NuGen has established a joint venture in China in the name of Tianjin NuGen  Hechi Power for manufacturing its extensive line of axial flux permanent magnet motors and their controls. NuGen's President and CEO, Mr. Eric Takamura, formally signed the joint venture agreement in August 2009. A manufacturing facility, approximately 55,000 sq. ft. in size, consisting of a motor assembly shop, a controller assembly lab, test cells, and an integration shop, is presently under construction at the China Car Assembly Area in Tianjin, China. The facility is expected to be operational by March 2010. This joint venture in China further strengthens NuGen's mass production capabilities presently consisting of a manufacturing source in India and small scale manufacturing capabilities at the company headquarters in Ashburn, VA.
